Privacy policy
1. Introduction
MoneyWise ("we", "the app") helps you record and analyze personal expenses. This policy explains what data we process, for what purposes and your rights. By using the app, you agree to this document.
2. Data controller
The data controller is the MoneyWise developer (nvrbuild). For privacy questions, use the contact on the App Store listing.
3. Data we collect
- Account: email address and authentication credentials.
- Expenses: title, description, amount, merchant, date, category, payment method, linked card and, if provided, map coordinates.
- Cards: name and data you enter when creating or editing cards.
- Budget: limits and categories you configure.
- Local preferences: filters, reminders and other settings stored on the device.
We do not sell your data or use it for advertising or cross-app tracking.
4. How we use data
We use data solely to:
- authenticate your account and enable access on multiple devices;
- store, sync and display expenses, cards and budget;
- export expenses to CSV when you request it;
- send local budget reminder notifications if you enable them;
- improve the in-app experience (e.g. home screen widget).
5. Storage and sync
Data is stored locally on your device and synced to your cloud account (expenses, cards and budget), enabling access on multiple devices.
6. Location
Location is optional and only stored when you manually mark a point on the map when recording an expense. The app does not collect background location or track your movements.
7. Notifications
You can enable local reminders to review your budget. These notifications are scheduled on the device and do not require sending your financial data to external servers for delivery.
8. Third-party sharing
We use essential service providers for authentication and cloud sync, who process data under their own privacy policies. Beyond these essential services, we do not share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.
9. Your rights
You can at any time:
- access and correct expenses, cards and budget in the app;
- export expenses to CSV (Settings > Export expenses).
If you have questions or want to exercise other rights under applicable law, contact us via the App Store channel.
10. Retention
We keep data while your account exists and as needed to provide the service.
11. Security
We apply technical measures appropriate to the app context, including secure authentication, local storage protected by the operating system and encrypted communication with cloud services. No system is fully risk-free; we recommend a strong password and keeping your device updated.
12. Changes
We may update this policy to reflect new features or legal requirements. The date at the top indicates the current version. Material changes will be communicated in the app or on the website when available.
